Toner Legal is a specialist employment law firm acting exclusively for individuals. Our principal focus is negotiating exits from employment, while also advising clients on settlement agreements, Employment Tribunal litigation and the full range of employment law issues.
This is a remote / hybrid role. You will have the flexibility to work from home while remaining part of a supportive and collaborative team. We also have office space in Central and South London for those who wish to work from the office from time to time.
Most law firms expect their lawyers to spend a significant amount of time generating work. We have built a different model. Through innovative systems, effective marketing and dedicated Client Service Specialists who actively generate new instructions, we enable our lawyers to concentrate on delivering outstanding legal advice while developing rewarding and well-remunerated careers.
The Role
You will manage your own caseload of employment law matters with a high degree of autonomy, with a particular focus on negotiating exits from employment.
Your work will include:
- Negotiating exits from employment
- Advising on settlement agreements
- Employment Tribunal litigation
- Employment law advice for individuals
- Negotiating favourable outcomes for clients
You will work alongside experienced employment lawyers and have sales and admin support, enabling you to focus on providing an exceptional service to clients.
You will also receive training in negotiation, client care, marketing and business development, helping you develop both your legal and commercial skills.

About Toner Legal
Toner Legal is a specialist employment law firm founded by a specialist employment law barrister.
We represent individuals throughout the UK, providing pragmatic advice and robust representation across all areas of employment law. Our principal area of work is negotiating exits from employment, while also advising on settlement agreements and representing clients in the Employment Tribunal.
Although based in Central London, the firm has embraced flexible working from the outset. We believe lawyers should have the freedom to work where they are most productive while remaining connected to the wider team.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Between 1 and 5 years’ PQE as an Employment Lawyer
- Experience managing their own employment law caseload
- Experience advising individuals on employment law matters
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills
- Excellent client care and communication skills
- A commercial mindset and an interest in developing the firm’s client base
- A genuine commitment to helping individuals achieve the best possible outcomes
Experience supervising junior lawyers or trainees would be advantageous but is not essential.
