L’wren Tremayne – Employment Solicitor

I am a Solicitor at Toner Legal, specialising exclusively in employment law.L'wren Tremayne Solicitor

I advise and represent employees facing some of the most difficult moments in their working lives. Whether you have been offered a settlement agreement, are facing disciplinary or grievance proceedings, have experienced discrimination or harassment, or believe you have been unfairly dismissed, I will provide clear, practical advice to help you understand your options and achieve the best possible outcome.

Employment disputes can be stressful, particularly when your livelihood, reputation and future career are at stake. My role is to remove as much uncertainty as possible by giving straightforward advice, developing a clear strategy and supporting you at every stage of the process. I believe clients should always understand where they stand, the strengths and weaknesses of their case, and the options available to them before making important decisions.

My career in employment law began at Toner Legal, where I worked as an Employment Law Paralegal assisting employees with claims from their initial enquiry through to Employment Tribunal proceedings. After leaving to complete my training contract and qualify as a solicitor, I gained wider experience advising clients across several areas of law, developing strong drafting, negotiation and litigation skills. I then worked as a qualified employment solicitor at a large law firm near Birmingham for over a year before returning to Toner Legal.

This broader legal experience enables me to approach employment disputes with both technical knowledge and commercial awareness. I understand that many clients are looking not only for legal advice but for practical solutions that protect their careers, finances and wellbeing. Wherever possible, I seek to resolve disputes through effective negotiation, allowing clients to move forward without the stress, delay and expense of litigation. Where Tribunal proceedings become necessary, I work closely with clients to ensure they are fully prepared and supported throughout.

I have experience assisting clients with a wide range of employment law matters, including:

  • Settlement agreements.
  • Negotiated exits.
  • Unfair dismissal.
  • Constructive dismissal.
  • Discrimination and harassment.
  • Disciplinary and grievance procedures.
  • Employment Tribunal claims.
  • Employment Tribunal Preliminary Hearings
  • Employment contracts and workplace policies.

Clients often tell us that one of the most valuable aspects of our service is having someone who is approachable, responsive and genuinely invested in achieving the right outcome. I take the time to understand each client’s personal and professional objectives, tailoring my advice to their individual circumstances rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach.

Whether your priority is preserving your employment, negotiating the best possible exit package or pursuing a Tribunal claim, I will work with you to develop a strategy that reflects your goals and gives you the confidence to move forward.

Experience

During my career I have assisted with matters including:

  • Advising employees throughout the negotiation of settlement agreements and securing favourable exit terms.
  • Assisting with Employment Tribunal claims from initial instructions through to hearing preparation.
  • Drafting settlement agreements, Employment Tribunal pleadings, employment contracts and workplace documentation.
  • Supporting employees through grievance, disciplinary and redundancy processes.
  • Negotiating with employers and their legal representatives to resolve disputes efficiently and cost-effectively wherever possible.
  • Judicial Mediation hearings and Preliminary hearings.

Notable cases

Notable cases include:

  • Advising an employee in a complex disability discrimination and capability matter, including allegations of failures to make reasonable adjustments, and successfully negotiating an enhanced exit package and agreed reference.
  • Advising an employee on whistleblowing detriment and unfair dismissal claims arising following the raising of serious workplace concerns, including providing strategic advice on ACAS Early Conciliation, Employment Tribunal proceedings and settlement.
  • Representing a senior employee in a sensitive employment dispute involving discrimination and unfair treatment, and negotiating a favourable financial settlement and agreed termination without the need for Employment Tribunal proceedings.

“When looking to expand, understanding the difference between employees, workers & contractors etc was a challenge. Despite our own best efforts, getting decent contracts in place for new staff was far from straightforward. Toner Legal took care of this issue and will continue to provide all our legal support in the future.”

“An exceptional Barrister I would highly recommend. Great communication throughout the whole journey. Clear and concise at every stage of the process”

- Lynne

“Mr Toner provided me with an outstanding service throughout my long and difficult case. Always available to communicate with, he never ceased to amaze me with not only his extensive legal knowledge but also his patience/ ability to translate it into easily understandable English. To quote the opposing Barrister at the opening of my cross examination she described our Witness Statement as ‘forensic’ – needless to say we had a very successful outcome. If I had to sum up Mr Toner’s service in just one word – Outstanding – would be the only word I would need. I always felt he was at least one step ahead of the opposition and in the end that proved to be the case. Thank you Mr Toner.”

- Ian Lee

“Blair is a great Barrister that supported me to win a very difficult case that I had previously spent thousands of pounds with a solicitor before l contacted him directly. He went beyond the required duties to even support me in sourcing funding from external sources to enable me pay for the court fees. His own fees were so reasonable and l wished l met him at the beginning of this case which should have saved me a lot of money.

I really recommend his service to anyone as he is very good and will also be real with you.”
